Hierapolis

Me, Jill and Erin in the theatre

Above the cliffs are the ruins of Hierapolis, the spa 'resort'/healing center for several thousand years up to 1334 AD when earthquakes finally convinced the locals to take off (according to grammatically hilarious signs). The best preserved place, above the super developed tourist trap at the Sacred Pool (now the site of overpriced ice cream and drinks and lots of Eastern Europeans and Russians in tiny speedos) is the theatre.
