Efes (Ephesus)

Pretending to be Hellenistic statues in Ephesus at ruined Temple of Pillion (or something like that...)

We took a day trip and drove two hours to Ephesus, ancienct city ruins for just about everyone who ever came to Turkey it seems. The drive involved 7 people in a 5 person car and lots of heat (it was over 100 degrees F).

The Library - a reconstruction of the front.

The ruins here were beautiful, amazing, and plentiful. There were broken rocks everywhere you looked, and more tourists of every nationality then we had seen yet.

From far away, the big theatre at Ephesus. It could seat 25,000 people!

Ephesus was home to the Biblical figure Paul for three years, and the city site is over 2,000 years old!
